Some of the best candidates for our improvements are homes built as recent as 2007. Many of the building science applications we take into consideration when determining a recommended package of improvement are currently not being implemented by builders. Furthermore, with the recent housing boom, many homes built even during the past few years have significant construction defects which are very cost effective to repair. Homes built in the 1990’s and earlier are ideal candidates for our service and typically experience the highest savings per dollar invested. Remodeled homes – additions, remodels and renovation projects often address only aesthetic improvements and leave the home performing incorrectly. A Home Performance Report and Certification includes a Home Performance Analysis and a comprehensive report and certification. It is recommended for investment property owners, homeowners selling their homes and potential homeowners considering energy efficient mortgage products.
How much does a package of improvements cost?
It ranges depending on the condition of the home, size of the home and customer desires but almost all customers see an immediate economic benefit from the utility rebates and tax credits. The average net expense after rebates and tax credits range from $500.00 to $1500.00 with small jobs costing as little as $175.00.
Can anyone facilitate the utility rebates?
Unfortunately, no. In order to apply for rebates offered by utility companies, energy efficiency improvements must be completed by a BPI certified contracting company.
How much can I save on my utility bills?
Your potential savings will vary based on the conditions found in your home and the level of improvements you elect to make. If your home is experiencing seasonal high energy bills, it is typically a sign of poor efficiency or a problem with the home and a good sign that you can make low cost improvements which result in significant savings.
Basic improvements can result in 10% - 35% savings. For larger savings, most homes require replacing older equipment with energy efficient such as air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps and appliances.
We have energy consumption on homes as much as 60% but it required basic home improvements and a new energy efficient heat pump.
Be skeptical of products which claim to save you a lot on your bills. The best way to reduce your energy consumption is to repair your home and replace outdated equipment. Gimmick products don't work. Comparing your bills to your neighbors is not a true representation of your home's energy efficiency. Your neighbor's home was probably built by the same builder.
How do I prepare for my Home Performance Audit?
You will need your most recent utility bill and be available for up to 1.5 - 3 hours depending on the size of your home.
Do you provide a guarantee for the utility bill savings?
NO. A major factor in not providing a guarantee is that electricity savings are based on a number of variables which are out of the control of our technicians. These items include, but are not limited to: the utility rate base, weather, time of electricity consumption, behavior, the specific package of improvements, the existing and post condition of your home and number of occupants living within the home. There are companies which provide electricity guarantees but their contracts have large loopholes and the guarantee amounts are well below actual targeted savings making the guarantees nearly worthless.

Licensing - Socalhomeinsulation.comconfirms at the time of a service professionals registration, that a prospective new SP member has all applicable required state-level trade licensing. Certain states may require state-level licensing for projects above specified dollar amounts. We recommend you confirm these licensing requirements with the business and the applicable state and local licensing authorities. In some states, licensing may be required by the county or local authority in which the work is being performed. We recommend you confirm these licensing requirements before proceeding with your project. Larger projects often require the use of sub-contractors for specific types of work (for example, a kitchen remodel may require an electrician or plumber). We recommend you verify that all the sub-contractors doing work on your project carry the appropriate licensing. Corporate Accounts - Some Service Professionals are employees, franchisees, dealers, or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or corporate accounts ("Corporate Accounts"). We encourage you to ensure that these contractors are appropriately licensed and insured for the work you are requesting to be performed, and to do any further investigation into their references and background as you deem necessary. The sections above titled "RESOLUTION PROCESS AND LIMITED SERVICE GUARANTEE" and "SERVICE PROFESSIONAL PRESCREENING PROCEDURES AND DISCLAIMERS" expressly do not apply to service requests posted on the Socalhomeinsulation.comJob Board.
11. INDEMNIFICATION. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY SOCALHEATINGAIRCONDITIONING.COM, AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CO-BRANDERS, AND OTHER PARTNERS AND HOLD THEM EACH HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OR DEMANDS, INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES, MADE BY ANY THIRD PARTY DUE TO OR ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOCALHOMEINSULATION.COMSERVICES OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOCALHOMEINSULATION.COMWEB SITE OR YOUR VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, OR ARISING FROM YOUR VIOLATION OF ANY RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY.
12. GENERAL PROVISIONS. You acknowledge and agree that the Socalhomeinsulation.comservices are provided to you on an "AS IS" basis without any warranty whatsoever, and your sole and exclusive remedy, and SOCALheatingairconditioning.com's sole obligation to you or any third party for any claim arising out of your use of the Socalhomeinsulation.comservices or the Socalhomeinsulation.comWeb site, is that you are free to discontinue your use of the Socalhomeinsulation.comservices or the Socalhomeinsulation.comWeb site at any time. The Terms and Conditions will inure to the benefit of SOCALheatingairconditioning.com's successors, assigns and licensees. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed unlawful, void or unenforceable, for any reason, by any court of competent jurisdiction that provision shall be modified in order to make it enforceable, while maintaining the spirit of the provision. Alternatively, if modification is not possible, such provision shall be stricken and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms. The failure of Socalhomeinsulation.comto exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Socalhomeinsulation.comservices or the Terms and Conditions must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred. The section titles in the Terms and Conditions are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado as such laws are applied to agreements entered into and to be performed entirely in the State of Colorado and between Colorado residents. You agree to submit to jurisdiction in Colorado and that any claim arising out of or related to these Terms and Conditions will be brought solely in a court in Denver County, Colorado.
